So you're about to embark on your first Twitter encounter for business?  If you're feeling bemused by the social networking site then our top tips for newbie’s will help you get to grips with tweeting and make best use of those 140 characters!  Curly Creative’s tips explain who you should follow and why, what to say and how often to say it!

Twitter is a fantastic place to meet and engage with the sort of people you want to do business with.  It’s a place to share stories, pictures, events and advice.

Top Ten Twitter Tips!

Tip One

To keep up to date on the latest happenings in your industry, follow key influencers such as industry figures, suppliers and journalists.  Check who your competitors are following and consider following some of the same people.

Tip Two

Re-tweet influencers and interesting content - but add something of your own, give your opinion.

Tip Three

Be nice!  Mention people and say thank you for posting re-tweets or links back to your site.  Praise people if you like what they are sharing.

Tip Four

Twitter is a place to have conservations.  Try to add a more personal feel to your Twitter page by changing the profile picture to a head shot of whoever is doing the updates.

Tip Five

People buy from people.  Show a little of your personality, tell jokes now and then.

Tip Six

Remember that your followers may not always be your customers.  Twitter is not the place to just tweet deals, it is about forming relationships.  Twitter is more about customer relations and PR than sales.

Tip Seven

Use relevant hash tags in order to be found, but don’t overdo it or it may put off your followers.

Tip Eight

You can also use hash tags to search for questions about your niche and respond so that you become seen as an authority on the subject.

Tip Nine

To encourage engagement, try phrasing your comments as questions to initiate a response.

Tip Ten

Do not be afraid to tweet the same thing more than once, as your followers will be logging on at different times and your tweets will be lost in their feed as more recent posts appear.

Client Testimonials

Emma has been absolutely brilliant, from the very first meeting she has gone above and beyond. Every stage has been clearly explained and completed before deadlines, she has been a pleasure to work with. I have no hesitation in using Emma again or recommending her to others.

Caroline Beacon
Owner, Stitched By You

Emma developed our logo, marketing leaflet and then our website. I am really thrilled with all three. Emma listens carefully to what you are wanting to achieve and asks some probing questions to properly understand the business vision. She then interprets this to design and deliver the outputs with wonderful effect. Emma is easy to get on with, provides good advice and is very conscientious (and patient!). I certainly would recommend Curly Creative.

Andrew Martin

The quality of Emma's work is very high. Emma is an excellent communicator, with great attention to detail... She really took time to listen and understand my business, before creating a completely new brand identity for me and then a website This is a start up business and working with Emma challenged me to be clear on my objectives and values, which has in turn led to a brand and website that I am delighted with and very proud of... I can't imagine anyone else would do such a good job!
